BC Rytas Vilnius basketball players wore different colored shoes on March 22nd to support people with Down syndrome. During the long break, a performance was held by the sports gymnastics club "Skrydis", which organizes training and develops people with special needs. Later, there was also a joint dance with people with Down syndrome and the "Rytas Dance Team" dancers. The BC Rytas Vilnius team launched the social campaign "Together Against All", which aims to draw attention and help various social groups that usually receive less attention. The campaign started in 2023 after the King Mindaugas Cup tournament, where the Vilnius team was not the most supported. Domilė Matuškevičiūtė, the team's representative, said that the campaign was born after the 2023 King Mindaugas Cup tournament, which took place in Šiauliai. "Our campaign was born after the 2023 King Mindaugas Cup tournament, which took place in Šiauliai. It's a funny story, - said Domilė Matuškevičiūtė, the team's representative. - When there was an unusual atmosphere in the neutral arena, the gathered fans actively supported anyone who played against us. The whole atmosphere made us think about the hostility that arises due to preconceptions. Of course, we don't compare ourselves to people who face discrimination and social exclusion every day, but that moment prompted us to think more broadly about people who, without any fault of their own, face ridicule, exclusion, and hatred just because they exist. Then the idea was born that we have a large audience, a strong community, and our visibility can be used not only for sports but also for meaningful social initiatives." "B tribūna" is one of the most active participants in the "Together Against All" campaign. They once again showed this on March 22nd during the game against Panevėžio "Lietkabelis", holding a banner that read "Fight against racism every day: in the streets, in sports - everywhere". "When talking about "B tribūna", they really welcomed this campaign. They are one of the most active supporters of our actions - they contribute both physically and financially, - said D. Matuškevičiūtė. - We see that sometimes they even collect money for certain situations where help is needed.
