On March 22, BC Rytas Vilnius held a special event for Down Syndrome Day. The team's players wore mismatched socks to show support for individuals with this syndrome. During the halftime break, the gymnastics club 'Skrydis' showcased their talents, focusing on individuals with special needs. This was followed by a joint dance with the 'Rytas Dance Team', which received enthusiastic support from fans. This event is part of the 'Together Against All' social campaign aimed at raising awareness for various societal groups often facing discrimination. The campaign began after the 2023 King Mindaugas Cup, when the team experienced an unusual atmosphere where fans actively supported their opponents. Team representative Domilė Matuškevičiūtė mentioned that this incident prompted them to think about social exclusion and discrimination. BC Rytas Vilnius had previously expressed support for the LGBT community, and these values have become part of the club's identity. At the event, 'B tribūna' displayed a banner reading 'Fight Against Racism Daily: In the Streets, In Sports – Everywhere', demonstrating that the most active fans also support social initiatives. BC Rytas Vilnius will continue to increase its visibility and contribute to meaningful social actions.
